One-bedroom properties with a private swimming pool are a rarity. Set just above the small coastal road between Gaios and Mongonissi, this stone-built house, with the doors of the living room and bedroom opening out onto the terrace and infinity pool, has everything one could wish for. The view is superb: the monastery of Panagia island, the cliffs of southern Corfu and the mountains of the mainland and between them a vista of sea, which changes with the day. Inside is full of light, and the comfortable, pale furnishings highlight a few of the artist owner's bright paintings. The shops and restaurants of Gaios and the taverna and sandy beach at Mongonissi are both within walking distance.
Whilst maintaining its own independence and privacy, The Artist's House can be rented along with The Stone House and Villa Flora to provide a spacious venue for an extended family gathering or a group of friends.

This was our second visit to The Artist's House, and it was such a delight to find that this time we had WiFi and a smart TV! The situation is especially good, as it is away from the town and quiet, but just a 15-minute walk to a host of shops, cafes and tavernas. Lovely walks in every direction, in fact; to Mongonissi with views down onto pretty little coves, but also up the hill into some gorgeous hamlets. The people on Paxos are amazing, and especially the Simpson reps and our wonderful cleaner who has made me try to learn Greek!
Like so many people before us, we fell for the charms of Paxos, and The Artist’s House was the perfect location for us. Spectacular views, complete privacy and lovely walks that helped us avoid piling on the pounds. The villa had everything we needed, and we enjoyed relaxing there as much as being out and about. While there, we booked again for next year!
Our fifth Simpson adventure and our fifth visit to Paxos. Great little villa with wonderful views. We shall miss it.
This was our first experience using Simpson Travel. Wow, what a fantastic experience. Seamless, from initial booking, on going updates, check in, meet and greets, transfers, car hire and availability to assist whilst on holiday. Will definitely use Simpson Travel again. The Artists House was just perfect for our requirements and just as described. So private with lovely villa with absolutely stunning views.
It was our first time using a company to organise a holiday - normally we like to do it ourselves - and Simpsons were fabulous. The ease of going from airport to port, picking up a car, getting tickets etc - was fantastic. Saved a lot of stress and headache for us. The Artists House was also amazing - possibly one of the best views on the island and to have such privacy, and a villa just for two - with a pool and close access to the beach - was more than we could have dreamed for.
The Artist’s House is a true gem! A superb setting overlooking the entrance to a beautiful buzzy harbour provided huge entertainment as luxury yachts came and went. The proximity to the sea and to Gaios made it the perfect setting for a relaxed escape with convenient walking distance access to tavernas and bars but far way to escape the noise when you clamour for peace and quiet. No Wi-Fi so make sure you have a decent data allowance- but perfect if you want to be off grid.
So good to be back after a two year gap. I think this is our 8th or 9th visit to this unique villa. Thank you Frances for looking after us again.
The Artist's House is everything you could wish for, what a view! Another Simpsons gem. Having been with Simpson for many years, this has got to be the best.
First time with Simpson Travel and so glad we found you! A blissful escape for two in late August to The Artist’s House. Sun and seclusion in a spotless villa with an amazing infinity pool and unforgettable views day and night. Short walk to pretty little bays for quiet morning swims, only 20-min walk to the lovely port town of Gaios where there are plenty of excellent dining options. We drove to many other gorgeous beaches, pretty Loggos (don’t miss the taverna on Levrechio for a long lazy lunch) and Erimitis for sunset views. Such a beautiful island and Simpson made it all easy. Big thanks especially to Frances who was quick to respond, friendly and helpful with our queries. All felt safe and well handled in a time of Covid.
We booked with Simpson for a second time and yet again they strived to exceed expectations. Our rep, Stuart, was knowledgeable, friendly and understanding re your needs from him as a rep. He was available if needed and always had a friendly word if he saw you out in resort. Our accommodation was superb in a wonderful location for a non-car user. Simpson were very accurate and delivered re product knowledge and customer requirements on booking. A wonderful holiday again – cannot wait for next year so will be looking again.
Our eighth visit to The Artist’s House. Always perfect. We go out less and less because we love being at the villa so much. We have already booked for the next two years – would not want to go anywhere else.
We will miss our stunning view plus the peace and quiet that is The Artist’s House.
It was everything and more.
Second time here in this lovely villa. Stuart has been extremely helpful and nothing is too much trouble and quickly sorted.
The Artist’s House is the best villa we have ever stayed in. Wonderful pool and a fantastic view from the terrace. We had booked two weeks, but we could have done three.
The Artist’s House is a lovely villa with great views! We explored the island and loved Mongonissi beach. We hired a RIB for three days and explored Anti Paxos – it is so lovely and so worth doing with its crystal blue waters and white sand. The Erimitis restaurant is a must – a wonderful location and great sunset views! Thank you, Simpson Travel, once again.
What a great villa and what a great view – there was always something happening out there! We had mixed weather with no two days the same! The highlight was watching a thunderstorm and seeing lightning over Corfu. There are lots of good places to eat and everyone was friendly and helpful! We hope that all visitors will enjoy spending time there as much as we did.
Although not our first trip to Paxos, it has been the first time we’ve stayed a week. The first thing to assimilate is although it’s small, the island packs a big punch. Following Ian Bleasdale’s walking map is a delight if you’re into that sort of thing, but it took us a day or so to get used to the short distances and to begin with, we missed a lot. Everything we have done, has worked. We walked into Gaios every morning for a spot of shopping, coffee and people watching. We had trips to Mongonissi (walked it one day), Erimitis at lunchtime and Monodendri beach. If you want a boat trip, we would recommend sorting this out early if you’re only staying a week. The great thing about The Artist’s House is the views, but also that you get morning, day and evening sunshine. You can’t help but enjoy this place. We’ll be back.
Wow, wow, wow! What an amazing villa and pool in such a stunning location. We have absolutely loved our time in Paxos and taken home some wonderful memories. Thank you Simpson Travel and David.
The villa was just perfect. We didn't want to leave! We had the most amazing time in Paxos! We took a boat from Paxos and went across to Anti Paxos and up to the caves. There are two main beaches in Anti-Paxos – choose the second one if coming from Paxos. Both Lakka and Loggos are worth visiting if you have time. We tried to balance our time at our gorgeous villa and pool while continuing to explore the island. Simpson Travel were fantastic – thank you David!
Our first time in Paxos and we think it's wonderful. The villa, the view and the pool are all wonderful and we have had a great time relaxing, sunbathing, swimming, reading and eating. People were friendly everywhere and the Simpson Travel staff were very helpful – thanks David for all your advice. As always one week has gone way too quickly – I'm sure we'll be back!

Had a fantastic holiday in Paxos. You can always be sure of a fantastic location and superb accommodation when booking with Simpson Travel. Your holidays are exceptional and thank you to everyone who is involved in making the holiday so special.
We love Simpson Travel, Paxos and The Artist's House. Its a real home from home and we will definitely return as we love it so much.
This was our first visit to Paxos, although we have travelled with Simpson Travel before. The Artist's House is a wonderful location and probably one of the best villas we have stayed in. It was centrally situated for walking to the village and local small bays, so it was not always necessary to use the car.
We found the level of service and the quality of the accommodation supreme.
The Simpson experience 'The road less travelled' has made our road more travelled – three holidays with them and looking forward to our fourth!
We have visited The Artist's House in Paxos four times and have already booked for next year – that's how much we like it. We trust Simpson Travel to provide the quality and attention to detail that we expect.
Our second time in Paxos but our first time to The Artist's House, and what a great house it is, probably the best we have stayed in. Thanks to Kate for all her help and to Simpson Travel in general, they have been great.
We have loved every minute of our stay at The Artist's House. Such a lovely place to spend our honeymoon. We have had lazy days by the pool and have also been out exploring.
This place is so perfect that we had make ourselves go out and explore.
Our honeymoon at The Artist's House in Paxos was absolutely perfect. A stunning villa in the most wonderful location. Never have we ever come home from a holiday so completely relaxed and chilled. The Simpson Travel representatives from the moment we arrived to the moment we left were just superb. Professional, not over the top, friendly and very knowledgeable. We will most definitely be back with Simpson Travel for our next relaxing break. Thank you for making our honeymoon just perfect!
The Artist's House was a lovely peaceful place with fantastic views.
This was our first visit to Paxos and what a lovely island. So laid back and really friendly people. The Artist's House is in such a lovely spot looking over the blue pool onto the ever-changing view of boats arriving and leaving the bay.
This was our second holiday with Simpson Travel, and we enjoyed it even more than last year. The only regret we have is that we should have booked for two weeks rather than one! Needless to say, we will not make the same mistake next year! Thank you for an unforgettable holiday.
Everything went very smoothly, the staff were friendly and helpful. The property we had, The Artist's House on Paxos, was as lovely as we were expecting from the attractive photos on the website. It was a pleasant easy walk to Gaios, which had all we needed and was lively without being noisy. Perfect! Not easy to find a villa for two with a large terrace and infinity pool and a beautiful view without the drawback of an uphill climb to enjoy it (only a few steps).
Our choice of Greek properties is as diverse as the islands themselves, ranging from simple seaside charm to genuine luxury and style. Much of our portfolio is privately owned, and price alone is therefore not a universal guide. We contract all our accommodation in person, and each property has its individual appeal. To help you make the right choice based on your own priorities, we have devised a simple grading guide to be considered in conjunction with each individual property description, awarding up to a maximum of five stars for the below categories.

Barely eight miles from tip to tail, Paxos is pint-sized perfection. The only way to get here is by boat from Corfu, which rules out mass development and makes room for a true luxury villa holiday experience. Beloved by the boating crowd, there's a definite buzz in the main summer months and an excellent choice of restaurants that cater for visiting flotilla.
There are few better ways of relaxing than on a luxury holiday in Paxos, where days fill up beautifully with sunbathing, swimming, snorkelling and dining in style, the sea just metres from your table. Amble through ancient olive groves and you’ll catch glimpses of startlingly turquoise bays, the dramatic west-coast cliffs or the Epiros Mountains. In spring, there’s also a haze of purple honesty, wild irises and lilies and a sky that’s alive with birdlife, from hawks to skylarks.
Complete the picture with a stay in one of our handpicked luxury villas or our unique Adult Only Simpson Hotels and make the most of this peaceful island.
