Some houses are rather solid and dignified, whilst others seem to take themselves a little less seriously, and Sa Fontasa feels like one of the latter. The building is traditionally Mallorquín and the furnishings are generally rustic in style, but this house has been decorated with a lightness of touch and flashes of bright colour to make it far more chic than shabby. Charming and practical for a couple or a small family, it’s a pleasingly artistic interpretation of the classic countryside finca, idyllically placed in the rural heartland of Mallorca.

The pool and terrace are completely private, looking out over an expansive panorama of the Campanet valley and beyond. You can explore for miles though this delightful countryside, stumbling on occasional hamlets and pretty villages apparently unfazed by this most hectic of centuries. Secluded and very peaceful, Sa Fontasa is still comfortably close to the shops, restaurants and beaches of Pollensa and Alcúdia and as our reviews show, it's become a firm favourite with Simpson Travellers.

2 perfect weeks. Weather amazing, loved the pool and the covered area. Couple of fantastic days at Cala Saint Vinenc and the walk to Cala Boque is well worth the trip. The waterpark at Alcudia is well worth the day out if you have kids with you, but book the day before.

Nic, Jacqui and Gregor, June 2024

What a wonderful opportunity this has been to unravel and relax. Sa Fontasa is charming! We love the garden and grounds - such care has been taken to create a balance between a carefully tended garden and the surrounding natural vegetation. The villa offers a variety of lovely places to sit and eat, whilst the terrace provided a fantastic vantage point from which to witness an epic thunderstorm and subsequent downpour (whilst also enjoying a sundowner). Sa Fontasa has been an ideal location from which to explore the north eastern part of Mallorca. Thanks to Marguerita and Amanda for the warmth of their welcome.

Beverley and Harry, May 2024

What a lovely villa full of interesting nooks and crannies. We have been very comfortable here. While in Palma we took the electric train and then tram to Soller - what a great experience. Here at the villa we have been mainly relaxing, exploring the countryside and villages and finding great places to eat. Thank you to Amanda, Marguerita and Gabriel for your help.

Lyn and Robert, May 2024

We had a lovely week in spite of the mixed weather. We were very grateful for the woodburner in the evenings as it was chilly at this time of year. A big thank you to Margarita for showing us where to find logs and kindling and how to get the fire started. The surrounding countryside is charming and the rural nature of the villa allows you to relax and chill out completely. A huge thank you to Amanda from Simpson Travel and Margarita and Gabriel for their hospitality and kindness.

Wendy and Nigel, April 2024

Lovely stay as Sa Fontasa. Beautiful old building, lots of character and different places to sit or eat in the shade. Just a very relaxing stay. Very helpful local rep who contacted the owners, who speak no English, to sort out a problem we had with the drainage! The owners are a lovely couple and so friendly. Brilliant welcome pack - thank you. We would definitely think about returning as it was such a peaceful and relaxing holiday in easy reach of interesting places to visit.

Mr Robert Walker, April 2024

Lovely peaceful location with great pool. Car hire service was excellent as we had a mishap with the car and it was replaced very quickly. We also had our EasyJet flight going home cancelled and if it wasn't for Sonia and Sarah we would have slept on the streets for two nights, Sonia promptly found us a hotel and once out of the airport we were there and relaxing again. EasyJet did absolutely nothing. Many thanks Sarah and Sonia for all your help and assistance.

Mr Mark Hawkey, October 2023

We LOVED staying here – the pool, the comfy beds and the beautiful views. Thank you so much. We will definitely come back.

Jemima Hartin (age 9), August 2023

We’ve had a wonderful stay – the villa is both picturesque, beautiful and tastefully set. It’s been so lovely and the friendliness of owners, Francesca and her husband, was so welcome. Many thanks.

Emma Hartin, August 2023

Wonderful sunny week in Sa Fontasa. The girls (6 + 8) loved playing in the garden and jumping in the lovely pool. Great location for exploring Pollenca and Soller. First trip to Mallorca but sure we will be back.

Petherwick Family, April 2023

We like it and shall book next year, for the third time.

Michael Bowerman, April 2023

Beautiful country, welcoming locals, the house is amazing! A great holiday, thank you for making it special in such a lovely house and location.

Duncan Barnet, October 2022

We had a great time! Villa was stupendous - what a joy.

Julie & David, October 2022

Another excellent holiday with Simpson’s. Second visit to Sa Fontasa - the perfect hideaway.

Susan Shord, October 2022

The villa was lovely and very well provisioned. It was very spacious with so many seating areas to take advantage of the sun or shade at different parts of the day. It is a nice quiet location, with farm animals surrounding the villa, which may not be to everyone’s taste. The complementary kids pack was excellent.

Nicola Patterson, October 2022

A lovely, well appointed Villa in the countryside surrounded by the mountains. Perfect for a relaxing holiday.

Peter Broadhurst, September 2022

Lovely stay and beautiful house. The pool was perfect and the location is in a lovely part of Mallorca. Thank you Amanda and Margarita for helping us have a lovely time.

Alice, Giles and Chloe, September 2022

Such a peaceful rural location; we liked it so much we booked for next year whilst still there. Margarita and Gabriel were delightful and Amanda was very helpful, efficient and easily contactable.

Michael Bowerman, August 2022

Beautiful house, stunning location. Lovely to return to Mallorca after so many years. Warm welcome from everyone we met. Great cycling, great beaches, great view!

Mat, Helen, Dan and Amelie, August 2022

A wonderful place, peaceful but not isolated.

Catherine & Gaynor, July 2022

A beautiful rustic farmhouse in a wonderful rural location providing peace and tranquility.

Catherine Palmer, June 2022

This is a beautiful property and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. The resort concierge was brilliant. The villa was in a fairly isolated area and the first morning we went out to get some shopping but couldn’t find our way back. Amanda came out & showed us the way back. She also put a ‘pin drop’ on my husband’s phone so that we could get back safely. She also recommended a hire shop where we could hire a mobility scooter so that I could get around more easily when we went out in the evenings.

Barbara Pearman, June 2022

A lovely villa in a peaceful and beautiful location. The surrounding villages of Moscari, Selva and Campanet are all worth visiting. Loved our stay, over too quickly, will be back!

The Palmers, June 2022

Lovely location and charmingly rustic home. Thank you very much.

George family -, April 2022

Simpsons lived up to our expectations of very good customer service... these guys are exceptional compared to what you get nowadays, which is over promise and under deliver. The whole experience, from booking through to arrival back home, was such that we could enjoy our holiday free of hassle. Accommodation and location was great and despite cold and rainy weather ( came back to property from a day out, and rep. had left soup and rolls for us!), the holiday was nevertheless really enjoyable. Many thanks Simpsons.

Mr and Mrs Garbutt -, April 2022

A very peaceful place to be and we will never forget the stunning views. Graham is a wonderful rep and immediately acted on anything that went wrong. He was also wonderful to our daughter and family who have a disabled daughter.

Perrin, June 2019

Our fifth year with Simpson Travel and as always, they have been excellent. A big thank you to Graham for suggesting Sa Fontasa during our visit last year. He thought it would fit our wish for a quiet and rural villa in which to chill, with good walks outside the door. It couldn’t have been better. Thanks to Sonia and the wonderful Margarita for making us feel very welcome and providing such a beautiful and relaxing holiday home. Sonia also suggested we take the bus from Caimari up to Lluc and walk down the Pilgrims’ Way, which we did. Spectacular views and a lovely walk – but you need good footwear as it can be rough and slippery in places. Thank you!

Vanessa & Phil, October 2018

We have had a very restful holiday. Eating, drinking and feeding the horse. Lovely villa. The Simpson Travel staff could not have been more helpful. Margarita was so nice and enthusiastic. Not much English but I think we all understood eventually. Great time – thank you.

Sue & Andy, October 2018

Our fourth villa with Simpson Travel – previously Corsica and Crete and the best yet! Lovely house with a variety of sitting/eating out areas and a gorgeous pool. We did not venture far but the Sunday market in Pollença is a must and take Sonia’s advice on parking and go early. We liked the barbecue at Sa Topanga, on the way to Caimari and had a lovely dinner at Ta Muntanya in Selva, outside in the courtyard. Thanks to Graham and Sonia and the charming Margarita! We hope to be back next year!

Jill & David, August 2018

First time with Simpson Travel – what an amazing villa. We don’t want to go home! So lovely and relaxing. Do check out all the neighbouring villages (Selva, Campanet, etc). We loved Sóller and catching the tram to Sóller Port. Don’t forget to feed the horse (Pacifico) apples and carrots. Tramuntana in Selva is very good. We also loved Sineu market on Wednesday morning. Thank you to Sonia and Margarita!

Louise, Garry, Bettany & Danie, August 2018

At the bakery there is an amazing view and great places to go, you can hear the beautiful sound of the crickets. Also, if you want to swing and relax, there is a hammock hanging at the front for you. A horse is living with you outside and is friendly. You can feed her apples. This place is amazing, hope you enjoy!

Maisie (age 11), July 2018

The things we enjoyed most was seeing Mars from the balcony, Campanet Caves, the swimming pool, Port de Pollença, this lovely house and Pacifico (the horse).

Emilia, Ben, Kim & Joshua, July 2018

A much-needed relaxing week of rather mild weather! Sa Placa in Moscari square is simple and does a good pizza! The barbecue at Sa Topanga is very good. Sineu is a pretty little town – explore around the church (there is a baker in the square) and the little lanes surrounding. For shopping, the hypermarket in Inca does everything! Thank you to Margarita and Sonia. Please talk to the horse who is lovely and loves an apple.

Jenny & Roland, June 2018

The villa is a little gem surrounded by wonderful views of the Mallorcan countryside. The fields are full of wild flowers and it’s so relaxing just strolling around the lanes. Everyone is so friendly. If you want to go back in time, this is the place to do it and the place to eat locally is Sa Placa. Thank you, Margarita, for giving us two relaxing weeks.

Joe & Christine, May 2018

The simple flat walks out of this property have been full of flowers, birds and birdsong, animals and clanging bells and there has been little other apart from the horse – perhaps the whoosh of eyelashes and driven cars – and that is all. We enjoyed the caves at Campanet and the walk in the Fonts de Llfanes wood is unique. Do visit San Miguel next to the start of the Fonts de Llanes walk, it has a significant history and you may be guided by Fernando who is local and very well informed. All the local people smile and greet you and nobody is in a rush.

Gill & Paul, May 2018

This was our first holiday with Simpson Travel and hopefully won't be the last. We were very impressed from the moment we were met at Palma airport by a very friendly representative, who directed us to the car hire. This had to be the best and quickest car hire we've experienced over many years. Once at our villa, Graham the very friendly and helpful rep, visited us and was always available at the end of the phone. We would definitely recommend Simpson Travel.

Mr Newman, September 2017

Simpson Travel were great as usual. Would recommend them as genuinely caring, and helpful throughout our holiday.

Mr Mudumbi, August 2017

We really enjoyed our holiday. The villa was great as was Graham (our rep). The owner also popped in to say hello which was very nice. Overall, the whole experience was excellent so many thanks to all of you for the work behind the scenes.

Michael, Karen, Felix and Helena, July 2017

We have had a wonderful holiday yet again with Simpson Travel. We have explored the island, beaches, towns, Palma...but have loved coming back to this villa. Thanks to Margarita and Gabriel (owners) for making it so welcoming and thanks to Graham for his tips on places to visit. We will miss it very much and would love to stay longer!

Linda & David, October 2016

Sa Fontasa is an amazing villa in a rural location with fantastic views – second to none. The town of Moscari allows you to tour the island with ease, to experience the Moroccan culture.

Mrs Kellaway, October 2016

The view from the terrace is amazing and can’t be drawn away from the fantastic views, the sound of the sheep bells a wonderful retreat. The mountains are great but the driver may get rather tired on the twists in the road. Coming from a rural location in Dorset, this is something very special, recommend to anyone wishing to get away from our busy lives.

Jenny, October 2016

A lovely two weeks in Sa Fontasa. Our first visit to Mallorca and we have been suitably impressed, as the weather has been mixed we have done a lot of exploring. We based our visits on 'the top ten things to do' from a guide book and have accomplished all but one. Finally, thanks to Margarita and Gabriel for the use of their lovely villa, and to Graham for his kindness and helpful hints.

Richard & Diana, October 2016

I have used Simpson Travel for many years. The whole process of booking and travel has always been very straightforward and on the very rare occasions that problems have arisen at the properties (never the fault of Simpson), everything has been sorted out rapidly with the minimum of disruption. The three villas I've stayed in over the years have been excellent and I've always returned home feeling relaxed and refreshed. I've pre-booked a villa for next year.

Mrs Shord, September 2016

Fabulous, relaxing location, spent several days walking in the area, to Selva, Caimari, Binibona and Moscari. A lovely walk is to Campanet. Margarita is charming and visited us.

Helen & Kevin, September 2016

Our first holiday with Simpson Travel, it has been wonderful and we will be back. Sa Fontasa is perfect for a relaxing family break. We also had day trips in Puerto Pollença, Alcúdia, the beach and Campanet, all have been worth visiting, but our favourite moments have been at this beautiful house poolside, having meals on the terrace and enjoying the amazing views. Margarita and Gabriel have been wonderful hosts, thank you!

Bojan & Tatjane, August 2016

Our second time at Sa Fontasa in successive years and again fantastic. Margarita and Gabriel are fantastic hosts and it really is 'home from home'.

Mark & Sarah, August 2016

This is a brilliant place. So relaxing and such magnificent views from every point. You can’t beat sitting on the veranda at the end of the day as the sun goes down, and listening to the sheep and birds. Unforgettable.

Brian & Cathy, July 2016

Once again Simpson Travel has found a gem in Sa Fontasa. Its owner, Margaurita and Gabriel have done an amazing job in turning this into an unique home with some really quirky features, all their own work apparently. The views from the terrace were stunning and Moscari, which is a 15-minute walk away has some really nice places to eat. We had a few issues, which the owners with the help of Graham, solved very quickly and we had some hilarious conversations with neither of us being able to speak the language. Feeding the donkey and horse was the highlight of every evening and they are very friendly. A fantastic relaxing holiday and we hope to book again for next year.

Mrs Perrin, June 2016

What a super place and very relaxing in beautiful surroundings. We keep horses at home and were very impressed by the condition of Rose and Pacifica. An apple cut into quarters each evening was soon part of our routine, and they seemed to appreciate it, a very lovely stay thank you.

Howard & Catherine, June 2016

Thanks again for providing us with a great villa in a beautiful setting. All in all I think your brand and business is excellent. You really are a step apart from other brands that we have used, even the big names such as Virgin, who we used before we found you, haven't been able to deliver the same level of service. Using Simpson Travel means you feel safe in the knowledge that you will have a good villa and someone available locally to support with queries. Thanks!

Mrs Berte, June 2016

Thank you for such an amazingly relaxing stay. Sa Fontasa is a little bubble of tranquillity and we loved every moment. Margarita and Gabriel were fantastic and Graham was hugely helpful. An absolute highlight of this wonderful place has to be the donkey (Rosa) and horse (Pacifica) – what a lovely pair of animals! I’m sure we’ll be back.

Martha & Blake, May 2016

This is the first year we have used Simpson Travel and the weekend of our return we were booking for 2016...great customer service, fantastic accommodation...stunning location.

Mrs Laverty, September 2015

We booked with Simpson Travel last year for the first time to Corsica which was a wonderful family holiday. We booked with them again this year to Mallorca and had another brilliant experience. Great location, great accommodation, great people and service.

Mrs Wilson, August 2015

Once again Simpson Travel has come up trumps! Wonderful location and beautiful house, we were blessed with fantastic weather every day. Thank you to Alison our 'Simpson Rep' who was always on call to answer any query. Thank you Simpson Travel for giving us, once again, a great and unique holiday.

Mrs Paisey, September 2014

This is a most peaceful location. There is a beautiful village nearby. When you stay here you have an angel looking after you – in the form of the Simpson Travel rep – Alison. Nothing is too much trouble and she is also a 'mine' of information and cares passionately about this island.

The Marchant Family, July 2014
